What’s the job all about?


Wallop hasn’t been immune to the shocks to the global travel sector triggered by COVID-19. That said, we’re fortunate to have built outstanding relationships with our clients many of whom have remote locations or exclusivity that naturally leads to safe distancing. We’ve also a list of proven success stories that is a mile long, and we’re well-positioned to lead the wave of pent up demand for travel, adventures, and luxury experiences.


As our Director of Sales and new teammate, you will be responsible for driving net-new revenue and provide sales leadership to our team of experts.


Specific responsibilities will include:


Sales:


  • Engage prospects who fit our positioning via email or phone to set up sales calls or meetings.
  • Capitalize on leads and referrals that are sent to the company.
  • Prepare sales presentations, write new proposals, and respond to RFPs when necessary.
  • Monitor sales collateral and case studies to ensure timeliness and relevance.
  • Strive to lower the company’s COS (Cost of Sale).


Business Development:


  • Maintain relationships with existing clients, and check in on a regular basis.
  • Assist in the expansion of business with existing clients with our Directors of Client Engagement and Digital Marketing.
  • Work with the executive team to generate new accounts.
  • Be intimately familiar with the company’s services and pricing.


Other:


  • Remain current on marketing trends in luxury hospitality and adventure travel (and to a lesser degree in real estate).
  • Utilize skills to advance clients and the agency, creatively and strategically.
  • Contribute to the company’s team of evangelists.
  • Contribute to the company’s leadership team.
  • In collaboration with the leadership team, drive the timely reporting and analytics of sales efficiency and programs.


Our team has shifted to working from home as a result of COVID-19. We’re looking forward to bringing the team back together in our beautiful office when the time is right. While it would be beneficial if our new Director of Sales was based out of Vancouver, we’re flexible and open to hiring someone who resides in the PST through EST.

Job requirements

In order to be considered:


  • You’ll need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully selling value-based services into the luxury and experiential travel and hospitality industry.
  • You’ll need to be able to demonstrate at least 4 years of experience in the digital agency sector, either on the client or supplier side (preferably the latter).
  • You’ll need to have a solid understanding of the independent hotel ownership and management group landscape.
  • You’ll need to have familiarity with the values and attributes of luxury and experiential travel consumers.
  • You need to be a persuasive communicator with the ability to clearly articulate and transmit ideas, concepts, and information in formal and informal settings.
